Big brands were once craft brands.
Then they outgrew their founders team, following their dream.
With size, processes and bureaucracy had to kick in.
Here is how can you retain a founders mindset, working for a big brand: ↓
Not everything has to go through a process.
Not all research must go through the insights team
- Think of something that doesn't need line manager or stakeholders approval.
- Do a small pilot, learn from it, get an insight.
- Use it in your daily role (marketing, sales, etc.)
- Gather results and learn if it works.
If it works, sell that idea back to your stakeholders.
You've got nothing to lose.
There are 2 scenarios:
a) you get the buy in and it will get rolled-out more widely
b) you don't get it and you can keep doing it and use it for yourself.
If you got results, no one is gonna tell you not to do it.
Don't let size slow you down, be the driver of that change you want to see.
Do small pilots, analyze, learn, course correct, repeat, scale.
